Fourth Annual Clays for Community raises over $19,000

Nov 26, 2024

PALMETTO, GA, November 26, 2024 – Coweta-Fayette EMC’s (CFEMC) Operation Round Up Foundation hosted its Fourth Annual Clays for Community Sporting Clay Shoot on Friday, November 22 at Big Red Oak Plantation in Gay, Georgia.

The event was originally scheduled for September 13, but was rescheduled due to weather. Even with the change of schedule, through the help from the local community, the clay shoot tournament raised over $19,000 to help provide grants to non-profits and enhance educational opportunities for local students through CFEMC’s Operation Round Up Foundation.

The successful event included participation from 96 individuals from 24 teams competing to give back to the community. Overall winners include: First Place, Oglethorpe Power Corporation; Second Place, Georgia Power; and Third Place, Newnan Utilities.

The Foundation was able to raise money from proceeds in the form of sponsorships and donations directly from 27 local businesses/individuals, including CoBank, Enervision, Brent Scarbrough and Company, Gresco, Georgia Power, Go Energy Credit Union, Leidos, Gridco, Emerald Transformer, Pike Electric, Oglethorpe Power Corporation, JB Communities, Piedmont Newnan, Piedmont Fayette, Newnan Utilities, Southeast Fencing and Railing, Southern States Bank, Relyco, Walton EMC, Greystone Power, Turner and Associates Land Surveyors, Survey and Ballot Systems, Circle A Fences, Clements Fence Company, North Georgia Concrete and Meridian Cooperative.

“The Operation Round Up Trust Board was pleased once again to host this successful event for the fourth year in hopes of raising additional funds for the foundation,” said Melissa Turner, Chair of Coweta-Fayette Trust Inc. Board. “Despite a delay in the event, the dedication from our sponsors and community partners shines through. The funds raised from this event will be distributed directly to those in need and will allow us to enhance our community’s quality of life. Thank you to all those who came together to help give back to the communities we serve.”
