CFEMC’s Sixth Annual Clay Shoot Raises More Than $29,000 for Operation Round Up
PALMETTO, Ga., September 25, 2026 — Twenty-three teams, one day and more than $29,000 raised for local communities.
Coweta-Fayette EMC’s sixth annual Clays for Community fundraiser brought together businesses, community partners and supporters Sept. 24 at Big Red Oak Plantation in Gay Georgia, for a day of sporting clays with a purpose. The event raised a net total of more than $29,000 for Operation Round Up, helping fund grants for nonprofit organizations serving communities throughout CFEMC’s service area.
“We are incredibly grateful for the community partners and vendors who continue to show up for Operation Round Up year after year,” said Jenna Addison, CFEMC Community Relations Coordinator. “Clays for Community gives us a chance to spend the day with so many of the people who support what we do, enjoy a little friendly competition and, most importantly, come together for a cause that makes a real difference in our communities. Their continued generosity means so much to us and helps us build on the impact our participating members make possible every month.”
The annual fundraiser extends the impact of Operation Round Up beyond the generosity of participating CFEMC members, creating another way for local businesses and community partners to invest in the places they live and work.
Newnan Utilities claimed first place, with team members Matt Rainey, Trey Wiloby, Darrel Brown and Michael Smith.
GridCo finished second with Dwayne Cole, James Pitner, Patrick LeCroy and Mike Holcomb, Family of Companies took third place with Dakota Rutledge, Cade Smith, Josh Snead and Tucker Stone.
The event’s success was made possible through the support of participating teams and sponsors. Platinum sponsors included CoBank, Gresco, Family of Companies and Brent Scarbrough. Leidos and Go Energy Credit Union served as gold sponsors, Blickle as a silver sponsor and Food For Thought as the lunch sponsor.
Through Operation Round Up, participating CFEMC members voluntarily round their monthly electric bills up to the next whole dollar. While the individual contribution is small, those dollars are combined to provide grants to nonprofit organizations working to meet needs throughout the communities CFEMC serves.
