Warehouse Person
Role and Responsibilities
To accurately receive, issue and store all materials and supplies for the Cooperative.
Effectively and accurately performs the following functions:
- Receives and unloads, by forklift, all materials shipped via truck lines and motor freight.
- Uses the computer to identify who ordered material, to verify that the proper material was received and check stock quantities, etc.
- Receives materials and supplies from UPS, FedEx, etc. Ensures supplies are accurate prior to signing the packing slip.
- Place stock materials received in proper storage location.
- Issue material to construction crews within allotted timeframe.
- Evaluates returned materials for salvage, return or retirement. Breaks down and restocks as necessary.
- Delivers supplies to other Coweta Fayette EMC Divisions.
- Verifies received transformer data and specifications for accuracy when received through Indigo software.
- Delivers materials to construction crews on job sites as required.
- Conducts the bi-annual materials inventory (physical count) using Mobil Trak software.
- Assists in the performing of spot inventory counts as required.
- Calculates and records returned wire weights and footages.
- Maintains the warehouse and outside stores in a clean and orderly manner.
- Works safely. Follows all safety rules.
- Must display high degree of collaboration and teamwork to ensure productive work environment.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- Requires High School Graduate or Equivalent.
- 1 year of general warehouse experience preferred.
- Knowledge of RUS construction specifications, familiarity with the EMC staking sheets preferred.
- Must have and maintain a valid Georgia Driver’s License.
- Must satisfactorily pass the EMC’s employment physical examination and required drug screens.
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements
- Very Heavy Work. Exerts force in excess of 100 pounds occasionally, in excess of 50 pounds of force frequently, and in excess of 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
- Requires stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, talking and hearing involved.
- Working in adverse weather conditions. The warehouse area is extremely hot in the summer and cold in the winter.
- Required to be available and accessible to work irregular hours during emergency situations.
