Ways to Pay
We know every household manages its budget differently. Coweta-Fayette EMC offers several billing options designed to give members more flexibility and help make managing their monthly electric bill a little easier.
Explore the options below to find what works best for you.
PrePay
With PrePay, you purchase electricity before you use it, giving you more flexibility over when and how much you pay. There are no security deposits or late fees, and instead of receiving a traditional monthly statement, your energy use and remaining account balance are calculated daily.
You can add funds to your account when it’s convenient for you online, by phone or at a CFEMC office. You can also monitor your usage and account balance through the Member Portal.
How PrePay Works
When your account balance gets low, you’ll receive a text or email alert letting you know it’s time to add funds. If your balance reaches zero, electric service will automatically disconnect.
You can add funds to your account online or by phone at any time, day or night. Once the necessary funds are added, service will automatically be restored, typically within 30 minutes. There are no disconnection or reconnection fees associated with PrePay.
Who Can Participate?
PrePay is available to qualifying single-phase, non-demand, 200-amp residential accounts.
Getting Started
New members: A $25 membership fee and an initial $50 account balance are required to begin PrePay service. No security deposit is required.
Existing members: You can convert an eligible traditional account to PrePay at any time. Any existing deposit will first be applied to your account balance, with the remainder credited to your PrePay account.
If you have an outstanding account balance, a debt-management option may allow a portion of each PrePay payment to be applied toward that balance while the remainder funds your ongoing electricity use.
If you later decide PrePay isn’t right for you, you can return to traditional billing. Any applicable security deposit or other account requirements will apply at that time.

Levelized Billing
Take some of the guesswork out of your monthly electric bill with Levelized Billing. Instead of experiencing larger swings in your bill as energy use changes from season to season, your payment is based on the average of your current bill and the previous 12 months.
Because the average is recalculated each month, your bill will still change slightly, but Levelized Billing can help make monthly energy costs more predictable.
Senior Billing Options
Eligible senior members may qualify for programs designed to make managing their electric bill a little easier..

Need Help Paying Your Energy Bill?
We understand that unexpected circumstances can make it difficult to keep up with household expenses. In addition to billing options available through Coweta-Fayette EMC, outside organizations may offer financial assistance to eligible households.
Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP)
The Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) is a federally funded program that helps eligible households with home energy costs. Assistance is administered through local Community Action Agencies and is subject to eligibility requirements and the availability of funds.
CFEMC members should contact the agency serving the county where they live to learn about current assistance opportunities, eligibility requirements and how to apply.
Find Additional Assistance
Energy assistance programs, eligibility requirements and funding availability may change throughout the year. The Georgia Department of Human Services maintains information about LIHEAP and can help residents locate energy assistance resources in their area.
Important Information
These programs are administered by organizations independent of Coweta-Fayette EMC. CFEMC does not determine eligibility, approve applications or control the availability of assistance funds. Members are responsible for contacting the appropriate agency directly and should continue making payments on their account while an assistance application is being processed unless other arrangements have been made with CFEMC.
