Palmetto, GA – February 21, 2013 – In an effort to further the commitment to community principals important to both Coweta-Fayette EMC and its subsidiary, Relyco, the cooperative and security company recently participated in a job shadowing program with Heard County High School in Franklin.

According to EMC Vice President and Relyco General Manager Jimmy Adams, the Feb. 5 experience was an invaluable one—both for the student, Wade Wood, and for him.

“It’s always great to look at your job through fresh eyes,” he said. “I got to explain electric distribution and talk about what it means to be a cooperative. I showed Wade the various aspects of operating Relyco—from managing people, budgeting and advertising, to doing inventory, making sales and planning—and talked to him about college expectations and career development. We toured the facilities and discussed building a resume and a network of people to foster business relations. It was fun, and I hope it helps him along the path toward his chosen profession.”

Relyco Security Resources, Inc. is a wholly owned subsidiary of Coweta Fayette EMC that was founded in 1993 and currently services over 8,000 residential and commercial customers.

Coweta-Fayette EMC is a consumer-owned cooperative providing electricity and related services to over 74,000 member accounts in Coweta, Fayette, Heard, South Fulton, Clayton, Spalding, Troup and Meriwether Counties.
