Operation Round Up® Highlights

The pennies you contribute each month to Operation Round-Up, when combined with the pennies of thousands of other members, have resulted in changed lives. Founded in 1993, Operation Round-Up offers Coweta-Fayette EMC members the opportunity to literally “round up” their bill to the next highest dollar. The difference contributes to a fund which is awarded to individuals and organizations in need. Read about our recent Operation Round-Up grant recipients below!

One Roof Ecumenical Alliance Outreach

Operation Round-Up funds went to support the renovation of The Lodge in Newnan. The Lodge is One Roof Ecumenical Alliance Outreach’s new temporary housing facility for women and children. One Roof works with families in crisis in Coweta County, offering food, clothing, financial assistance and shelter.

Choose U 365

Choose U 365 received an Operation Round-Up donation for the organization’s after school STEM program. The organization serves students in the South Fulton area and encourages them to reach their full potential through promoting a positive view of self, while also promoting respect and accountability.

Fayette Pregnancy Resource Center

Thanks to help from Operation Round-Up, Fayette Pregnancy Resource center now offers a new mobile medical unit. This mobile medical unit, called “Benjamin,” will offer free ultrasounds, pregnancy testing and counseling services to women and families in Fayette and surrounding counties.

Backpack Buddies of Georgia

An Operation Round-Up donation enabled Backpack Buddies of Georgia to send over 5,000 bags of food over 6 weeks to hungry kids so they could have food to eat over the weekends. Backpack Buddies of Georgia is a community-driven effort to feed economically disadvantaged children.

Southwest Christian Care

With the help of an Operation Round-Up grant, Southwest Christian Care blessed their hospice facility guests with new hospital beds. Southwest Christian Care offers compassionate care free of charge to patients and their families.

Southern Crescent Habitat for Humanity

Operation Round-Up donated to Southern Crescent Habitat for Humanity, who used the funds to build a deck for a low-income family in Coweta County. Southern Crescent Habitat for Humanity helps low-income families find opportunity, achieve stability, and improve their futures.

Chattahoochee River Keeper

Operation Round-Up funds supported Chattahoochee River Keeper’s West Point Lake Floating Classroom, which provides on the water environmental education for 4000 students every year.

Skye Precious Kids

Skye Precious Kids received a donation to assist local families who have children with special needs or illness. The donation helped families care for their children during a time of crisis or financial need.

Adventure Bags

Adventure Bags is a local non-profit organization dedicated to supplying essential items to children entering foster care and other agencies throughout Georgia. Adventure Bags was awarded funding to give the children belongings to call their own.

FOCUS + Fragile Kids

FOCUS + Fragile Kids was awarded a donation to support the organization’s adaptive summer day camp for campers with special needs. In August, another donation helped purchase a specialized stroller for a 5-year-old Coweta County resident.
