PURPA Proceeding
About:
The Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act of 2021 amends the Public Utility Regulatory Policies Act of 1978 requiring Coweta-Fayette EMC to consider two new standards of service.
- Demand-response practices to promote the use of demand-response and demand flexibility practices to reduce electricity consumptions during periods of unusually high demand and establish rate mechanisms for recovery of costs promoting such practices, and
- Electric vehicle charging programs to help promote greater electrification of the transportation sector and establish rates that promote and improve affordable EV charging options, and enhance investment in said options, within the public EV charging infrastructure.
